Rupert Bear is a children's comic strip character created by English artist Mary Tourtel, wife of the editor of the Daily Express and first appeared in the Daily Express newspaper on 8 November 1920. Rupert's initial purpose was to win sales from the rival Daily Mail and Daily Mirror.

Rupert Bear has stood the test of time and is a must adored character who is easily recognisable in his familiar dress code of bright yellow checked trousers and scarf, red sweater and white boots.

This Rupert Annual from 1981 published by Express Newspaper and printed by Purnell and Sons Ltd is in very good condition, is unclipped, has clean pages and spine intact  (see photos) and would make a great present for anyone born in 1981, a collector of annuals or Rupert Bear Memorabilia

Please note: Rupert figurine not included but is for sale on Teddy Bear section
